It isn’t May… yet…

I sent out a newsletter today. It was supposed to be for tomorrow, but if your signed up for my newsletters, you got it today. Happy May!

I hope April treated you kindly. I know I accomplished a lot this month. want to know how I accomplished all these things:

  1. I wrote 2 short stories – well, I finished them, thank God. That was forever in the making.
  2. I wrote a book! You can find it here. How To Craft the Perfect Pizza: How to write the perfect short story. Obviously, it isn’t really all about pizza. It’s mostly about wine. HAHA! You should check it out. It’s on Kindle Unlimited and only .99 cents if you would like to purchase.
  3. I made another book! It is only available to my subscribers at the moment. They get to read it before it comes out. Currently, I am waiting on the illustrations. I will make it available through Amazon on Kindle Unlimited and for sale for 4.99.
  4. I wrote a newsletter! This is actually a big deal, seeing as I didn’t write one for a whole six months.
  5. I’m learning how to play the guitar. I’m learning my favorite song, Tin Man, by Miranda Lambert. It’s tough on the ole’ fingers, but I’m managing.
  6. I enrolled in college! I am going to take a creative writing class. Before I can take those classes, I have to take two English classes. So this should be interesting. The creative writing class in on how to write short stories! How ironic, right? I want someone else’s take on the subject before I start offering my own classes. Stay tuned for those. It should be a lot of fun. I have my own camera set-up and everything!

So how did I manage all these things? I took time off work. I used up some of my vacation and took a much needed week from work. I was super productive. I am thinking of doing this every couple of months. If you have a job that allows it, take time off. Do it for yourself, your mental health, and your over all well-being. It really is a game changer.

Now, let me switch things up. What do you think of this cover for my anthology? Which, by the way, will have 10 short stories, and one surprise story at the end.

Drawing by Christina Grady

This was done by my sister. She offered up this drawing and I thought I’d get everyone’s opinion on the matter. What do you think?

My niece is going to draw the other illustrations for stories like, The Old Man, The Yellow Door, and Alien Encounters. These are just a few of the great stories you will find inside this anthology. As you can tell, I am pretty excited about it.

Speaking of excitement, I was talking to a coworker who asked what I did for excitement. I laughed a little and said the only thing exciting I do is write books. I told him I actually wrote a book. You know what the thrill was? Telling someone I wrote a book! I WROTE A BOOK! That’s exciting news and I should be more proud to say so. I am often quite reserved about such things, but I am coming out of my shell more and more each day. I haven’t spoken about said book very much except here and my newsletter. I have it as a pinned tweet and facebook post, but other than that, I don’t tell everyone ALL THE TIME. But perhaps I should. I should tell everyone ALL THE TIME. Of course, within reason. I am not a broken record.

Did I tell you I am working on a new book? It is called The Wheels of Time. It may or may not be linked to The Takeover. haha. Here is a photo of the chair that sprung the idea. I was at an amusement park and the idea hit me. Now I have over 20 pages of notes. lol.

Pretty cool chair, huh. Do you notice all the clocks everywhere? They all mean something. All of them. There are more clocks than the picture shows and they all are broken – at least in my book they are. In my new book we have villains’, love, action, and of course a call of action. I know you will love this story. It was supposed to be a short story, but all my notes scream novel, so it is going to be a novel.

Well, that’s about it. I hope you have a great day and as always, thank you for reading, following, and being a part of my journey. I am forever grateful.

Let it out... we are all listening.
