I’m a little late to the party with this, but I wanted to start an accountability post and want to share with you my goals for October. If you would like, you can share your goals with me too in the comment section.
I would like to post a podcast every week. If you have been following me and the podcast, you will know I am having a difficult time finding a theme. I would like to tie this blog and my podcast together. I have a logo and a name, but the topics are falling short. I think I would love to talk about mental health and how it effects me and if anyone wants to chime in, we can talk about how it effects them. What do you think?
I made 24 dollars on Medium last month. That is the most I have ever made and I am pretty thrilled. My goal for this month is 100 dollars. If I post everyday and keep up with the engagement, I know I can do it. Medium works on engagement. The more claps, highlights, and comments you receive, the more money you make. If you can get the articles published you can make more as well. If the articles get curated by the Medium Gods, you can gain more views to your work which may mean more claps and over all engagement. Here’s to making money! If you would like, you can follow me on Medium. If you do not have a membership (that’s where they get the money to pay out its members), it is 5 dollars a month and you can read without limitations.
Once upon a time, I had a craft store. I sold serer aprons, dog bananas, and other items. I had to let it go because Etsy sucks. I took sewing back up and I am making baby items. More specifically, I am making baby quilts and they are Crazy Quilts. Crazy Quilts are blocks of material that do not line up with each other. I didn’t know this was a thing until my mother pointed it out. I thought it was because It was my first quilt and that is why it looked crappy to me. The quilts actually look cool all crazy. I am going to strive for a quit every month. Now this may seem ludicrous, but this means I can have started a quilt and ending a quilt. Sewing is pretty calming for me, so I am excited to do this. I spend about an hour a day on my sewing projects.
Lilian Vale Speaks:
If you noticed, I changed to look of this blog. I am not super thrilled with the layout so I will be tweaking it when I have time. The name Lilian Vale will be incorporated into all my writing and podcasting pursuits. The change will be a slow process. I hope to have it finalized by the end of this month.
I have to novels in the works. One is The Takeover. This is my science fiction piece. The second is my memoir which has lots of secrets. I am hoping to have the memoir done by the end of the year which means I really need to get it together. The Takeover does not have a deadline, although I feel I should impose one. My goal is to write 1000 words for each novel each week, but I may shrink it to 500 a piece.
As many of you know, I am in a bind with debt. However, I paid off a credit card and now I only have 8 more to pay. I have other debts too – school loans, vehicle loans, and other loans. My goal is to pay each off – one a time. Paying for the one really has me excited and focused that I can pay off all my loans. However, it might require me to pick up a few extra shifts at work. I am sad because this cuts into my self-care and writing time. I suppose I can’t have it all. But maybe I can…
I’m going to jump on the bandwagon and start a Patreon. Mine will be much different, though. This will be coming soon – at least by the end of the year. My goal for this month is to check pricing on some of my give items.
Well folks, those are a lot of goals. However, I know I can achieve them with hard work and determination.
What are your goals for October?
